3、le.Furthermore,voltageandcurrentoftenundergosignificantexcursionsduringthetransientperiodfollowingtheclearingofalargedisturbance.Thiscanresultinunexpectedswitchingevents,whichmakethestablepowersystembecomeinstable,andthenleadtomoreprotectionoperation.Itis
4、verydangerousforthestabilityofthepowersystem.Therefore,itisveryimportanttoconsidertheprotectionoperationduringtheanalysisandassessmentoftransientstability.Basedontheaboveissue,thisthesisdoessomeresearchabouttheassessmentofthetransientstabilityofpowersyste
5、mwiththeprotectionoperation.Andthecontentofthisthesisisasfollowing:Atfirst,anewmethodforidentifyingcriticalcutsetinpowersystemispresentedAtthepeakofpost—faultsystempotentialenergy,themostvulnerablelineisfoundwhoselinepotentialenergyismaximal.Andthebackupm
6、usterofvulnerablecutsetisformedincludingthemostvulnerableline.Thenthevulnerablecutests(keylines)isfoundwithsyntheticalindexmethod.Thetestresultshowsthenewmethodiseffectiveanddoesn’tneedtheartificialbackupmusterofthevulnerablecutest,comparingwiththeotherme
7、thods.Onthebasisofsearchingoutcriticalcutsetandthemostvulnerableline,anewalgorithmispresentedtocalculatethecriticalenergyoftransientstabilityassessmentofthepowersystemwithprotectionoperation.Thecriticalenergyisthesystemenergywhichjustmakesthepost—faulttra
