3、handeducationshouldbeconnectedtoandinteractingwithanindustry,supportedbysocietythroughresearchsupportandlegislation(thisissometimesreferredtoasthetriplehelix).ThisidealisalsovalidinDenmark,wherethefieldofwindenergyisseenasanexample,whereindustrial,politicalandre
4、searchneedsandabilitieshavemettocreateagloballysuccessfulindustry.Thissynergyandinteraction,however,needconstantattentiontoavoidtheriskoftheconnectionsbetweeninparticularindustryandresearchtobeweakenedandnotcoverallessentialelements.Toensureacontinuedstrongconne
5、ctionandfurthermoretostrengthenthecoordinationandinteractionwithintheDanishresearchcommunity,theDanishConsortiumforWindEnergyResearchwasformedin2002.Inthispapertheconsortiumwillbedescribed,includingitsstructurewithitsemphasisonresearchandeducation,itscurrentstra
6、tegyformulatedin2003,andthefutureplanswillbeoutlined.Anumberoflessonslearnedwillfinallybeidentified.Itishopedthatthesewillbeofvaluetootherresearchcommunitiestryingtotakesimilarinitiatives.2THECONSORTIUMInordertocoordinateandmakemoreefficientandeffectivethewinden
7、ergyresearchinDenmarkaconsortiumtitled"DanishConsortiumforWindEnergyResearch"wasformedin2002.Allmajorplayersinthefieldwerefundingmembersoftheconsortium,theseare:Risø,DTU(theTechnicalUniversityofDenmark),AAU(AalborgUniversity)andDHI–WaterandEnvironment.Thestructu
