3、ringchangestosuchtooling.Itistheresponsibilityofthetier1suppliertoensureitssub-supplierscomplywiththeseguidelines.·Specialtoolingistoolingspecificallydesignedfortheproductionof,andisuniqueto,anATIpart.·Generictooling,perishabletooling,general-purposeitemsandequipmentareexcluded,eve
4、niftheseitemsarededicatedtotheATIpart(i.e.,fasteners,drills,etc.).·ATIwillsupplythefirstsetofperishabletoolingdesignedandconsideredspecifictoanATIpartdimension(s),non-catalog,(i.e.,stepdrillsandreamersforvalvebores).However,thesupplierwillmaintainacompletesetthroughouttheprogramvia
5、maintenanceand/orreplacementbythesupplierasapartofthesupplier’spiecepriceburden.·UniquecomputersoftwarerequireddirectlyfortheproductionorgagingofthepartisconsideredpartofspecialtoolingandshallbecomethepropertyofATI.Computerhardwareisconsideredsupplier-ownedequipment.AT-10112703/201
6、2171.SpecialToolingandGagingGuidelinesandDefinitions(Cont’d)·Insomecases,toolingmayneedtoberelocatedfromonesuppliertoanother.Duringanysuchtoolmove,theoriginalsupplierisrequiredtokeepthetoolinginPPAPapprovedcondition.IfATIrequeststhetoolmove,thecost(s)oftoolmodificationsrequiredbyth
7、enewsuppliermaybecoveredbyATIviaaToolingContract(s).Ifthenewsupplierrequestsatoolmodificationortoolmove,thenewsuppliermustfollowATI’sSupplierQualityGuidelines(PPAP),aswellastheATIChangeManagementProcessandthenewsupplierwillberesponsibleforanycostsnotapprovedbyATIviaaToolingContract
