2、henols.However,thisclassificationmethodeasilyleadstotradefrictionininternationalmarketsespeciallyEuropeanandAmericanmarkets.Oolongteaandwhiteteaarespecialteasandtheirworldwideconsumptionincreaseswiththeirhealthclaimsinrecentyears.Forascientificdefinitionofoolongteaandwhitetea,t
3、hefeasibilityofchemicalfactorsofteaqualityappliedtodiscriminateoolongteaandwhiteteawasexploitedtentativelyinthispaper.Thechemicalfactorsofteaquality,includingwater-extractablesolids,totalash,individualandtotalcatechins,caffeine,totalpolyphenols,totalfreeaminoacids,theanineaswel
4、lasreducingsugar,weredeterminedbyISOornationalstandardsinallteasamples.ThecollecteddatawereextractedbyprincipalcomponentsanalysiswithSPSS18.0softwareandseveraldiscriminantfactorswereextractedwhichreflectedthemostchemicalqualityinformation.Sequentially,bothFisherandBayesdiscrimi
5、nantmethodswereappliedtoestablishthediscriminantfunctionstodiscriminatebetweenoolongteasandwhiteteas.Finally,amutualandrepeatablediscrimantfunctionwasacquiredwhichwassuccessfullyusedtodiscriminatethetypesofunknownteasamples.Themainresultsacquiredinthispaperareasfollowing:1.Four
