3、rf./makesitpossiblefornounphrasestobedefinedinaunitaryway,takingintoconsiderationboththetruth-theoreticandthepragmaticaspectsoftheirsemanticcontent.WhentheproposeddefinitionsareappliedtothestudyofChinesenounphrases,itisarguedthatthereisnoparticulardefinite
4、ness/specificityconstraintonsubjectsorBAobjectsinChinese,contrarytotheclaimsmadeinthecurrentliterature.Itisalsoarguedthat,contrarytotheobservationsmadebyCheng&Huang(1996),bothunselectivebindingandE-typepronounreadingsareavailableforapronounintheconsequentc
5、lauseofaChineseconditional,dependingontheinterpretationoftheindefiniteintheantecedentclause.Finally,adynamicinterpretationprogramincurrentframeworksofdynamicandproceduralsemanticsisoutlinedasprospectsforfurtherinvestigation.1.SemanticTypologyofNPsandTheirD
