4、omhistoricalandtheoreticperspectivesandpointsoutitsdevelopmenttrend.Onthebasis,aconclusionisdrawnthatprofitmaximizationpursuingmakestheessenceofbankinternationalization.Secondly,thispapermakesanempiricalresearchoninternationalizationofCitibankandHSBC.Basedontheanalysisandcompariso
5、noftheprocessandthestrategiccharacteristicoftheirinternationalization,weattempttofindsomeideasrevelatorytoourbanks.Thirdly,turningtoourstate-ownedcommercialbanks,thispaperanalyzestheinternalmotivesoftheirinternationalization,findsexistingproblems,probesintointernaleffectfactorsand
6、makessuggestionsonbanksdevelopmentroute.Lastly,thispaperreckonsthatbankinternationalizationrequiresnotonlybankstheirownefforts,butalsosupportfromgovernmentfinancialpoliciesandinstitutions.Therefore,thispaperofferssomereformproposalsconcerningdomesticenvironmentrelevanttostate-owne
