6、tegratedintoconventionalpowergrids.Theresearchreportedinthisdissertationprimarilyinvestigatesthereliability-constrainedplanningandoperationsofelectricpowersystemsincludingrenewablesourcesofenergybyaccountingforuncertainty.Themajorsourcesofuncertaintyinthesesystem
7、sincludeequipmentfailuresandstochasticvariationsintime-dependentpowersources.Differentenergysourceshavedifferentcharacteristicsintermsofcost,powerdispatchability,andenvironmentalimpact.Forinstance,theintermittencyofsomerenewableenergysourcesmaycompromisethesystemre
8、liabilitywhentheyareinte-gratedintothetraditionalpowergrids.Thus,multipleissuesshouldbeconsideredingridinterconnection,includingsystemcost,reliability,andpollu
