6、tegratedintoconventionalpowergrids.Theresearchreportedinthisdissertationprimarilyinvestigatesthereliability-constrainedplanningandoperationsofelectricpowersystemsincludingrenewablesourcesofenergybyaccountingforuncertainty.Themajorsourcesofuncertaintyinthesesystem

7、sincludeequipmentfailuresandstochasticvariationsintime-dependentpowersources.Differentenergysourceshavedifferentcharacteristicsintermsofcost,powerdispatchability,andenvironmentalimpact.Forinstance,theintermittencyofsomerenewableenergysourcesmaycompromisethesystemre
