3、creasetheriskoffailure,resultinginpoweroutageandcostlyunplannedmaintenancework.Therefore,thedevelopmentofscientificandcost-effectivelifecyclemanagement(LCM)strategieshasbecomeincreasinglyimportanttomaintainenergyinfrastructure.Sincedegradationofagingequipmentisanuncertainproce

4、sswhichdependsonmanyfactors,arisk-basedapproachisrequiredtoconsidertheeffectofvariousuncertaintiesinLCM.Thethesispresentsprobabilisticmodelstosupportrisk-basedlifecyclemanagementofenergyinfrastructuresystems.Inadditiontouncertaintyindegradationprocess,theinspectiondatacollecte

5、dbytheenergyindustryisoftencensoredandtruncatedwhichmakeitdifficulttoestimatethelifetimeprobabilitydistributionoftheequipment.Thethesispresentsmodernstatisticaltechniquesinquantifyinguncertaintiesassociatedwithinspectiondataandtoestimatethelifetimedistributionsinaconsistentman

6、ner.Age-basedandsequentialinspection-basedreplacementmodelsareproposedformaintenanceofcomponentinalarge-distributionnetwork.Aprobabilisticlifetimemodeltoconsidertheeffectofimperfectpreventivemaintenanceofacomponentisdevelopedanditsimpacttomaintenanceoptimizationisillustrated.T
