5、temperatureandincreasesthewidthofthemetastablezone,i.e.shiftsthemetastabilityofthesolutiontobeatlowerlevelofsupersaturation.1IntroductionPotassiumsulfateisanimportantindustrialfertilizerproducedbycrystallizationfromitsaqueoussolution.Thequality(size,shapeandpuri

6、ty)oftheproductisaffectedbymanyparametersinfluencingthegrowthmechanismsuchashydrodynamicconditions,pHofthecrystallizingsolution,andthepresenceofadditivesandimpurities.Thedevelopmentofdesignandoperationofindustrialcrystallizationprocessesrequiresdataonthekinetics

7、ofcrystalgrowthandunderstandingtheeffectofoperatingconditionsonkineticsandrateofcrystalgrowth.ThecrystalgrowthprocessisdescribedbyNielsen[1,2,3]withseveralconsecutivestepsofmasstransfer(bydiffusionorconvection)ofsolutemoleculesfromthesolutiontothecrystalsurface,
