3、,September1997FOREWORDNORSOK(ThecompetitivestandingoftheNorwegianoffshoresector)istheindustryinitiativetoaddvalue,reducecostandleadtimeandremoveunnecessaryactivitiesinoffshorefielddevelopmentsandoperations.TheNORSOKstandardsaredevelopedbytheNorwegianpetroleumindustryasapartoftheNORSOKinitiativeanda

4、rejointlyissuedbyOLF(TheNorwegianOilIndustryAssociation)andTBL(FederationofNorwegianEngineeringIndustries).NORSOKstandardsareadministeredbyNTS(NorwegianTechnologyStandardsInstitution).ThepurposeofNORSOKstandardsistoreplacetheindividualoilcompanyspecificationsforuseinexistingandfuturepetroleumindust

5、rydevelopments,subjecttotheindividualcompany'sreviewandapplication.TheNORSOKstandardsmakeextensivereferencestointernationalstandards.Whererelevant,thecontentsofaNORSOKstandardwillbeusedtoprovideinputtotheinternationalstandardisationprocess.Subjecttoimplementationintointernationalstandards,theNORSOK

6、standardwillbewithdrawn.AnnexAisnormativeINTRODUCTIONTheenclosedMaterialDataSheetsarepreparedasseparatedocumentstobeusedinpurchasingofplatesandprofilesinaluminiumforstructuraluse.TheMDSspecifiestheselectedoptionsofthereferredstandardandadditionalrequirementswhichshallbeaddedorsupersedethecorrespond
