4、ofColombia’sviolence.Theatrociouspracticeofthrowingthebodiesofvictimsofviolenceintotherivergoesbacktothecivilwarsofthenineteenthcenturyandcontinuesuptothepresentwiththepurposeofconcealingthetracesofcrimes—whetherbymakingthevictimsdisappearorbycarryingthemfarfro

5、mtheirhometerritories,impeding2determinationofthelocaleofthecrimeandthereforeitsinvestigation.Theimageofariverwhosecurrentbearshumandeadappearswith3somefrequencyinColombianliterature.Indeed,the“noveloflaViolencia,”whichevokesthehorrorsoftheconflictbetweenLibera
