3、perimentallyandtheoretically.Theequationsofconservationofmass,momentumandenergyweresolvedinthreedimensionsusingspatiallyvariablethermo-physicalpropertiesandamethodologyadaptedfromwell-establishedpreviousworkinfusionwelding.Non-Newtonianviscosityforthemetalflowwascalculatedconsideri

4、ngtemperatureandstrainratedependentflowstress.Thecomputedresultsshowedsignificantviscoplasticflownearthetoolsurface,andconvectionwasfoundtobetheprimarymechanismofheattransferinthisregion.Also,theresultsdemonstratedthestrongthree-dimensionalnatureofthetransportofheatandmass,reaffirmingt
