2、tracking,extraction,enhancement,andrecognitionofthetextfromagivenimage.However,variationsoftextduetodifferencesinsize,style,orientation,andalignment,aswellaslowimagecontrastandcomplexbackgroundmaketheproblemofautomatictextextractionextremelychallenging.While
3、comprehensivesurveysofrelatedproblemssuchasfacedetection,documentanalysis,andimage&videoindexingcanbefound,theproblemoftextinformationextractionisnotwellsurveyed.Alargenumberoftechniqueshavebeenproposedtoaddressthisproblem,andthepurposeofthispaperistoclassif

6、contentmeansobjects,events,andtheirrelations.Anumberofstudiesontheuseofrelativelylow-levelperceptualcontent[2-6]forimageandvideoindexinghavealreadybeenreported.Studiesonsemanticimagecontentintheformoftext,face,vehicle,andhumanactionhavealsoattractedsomerecen
7、tinterest[7-16].Amongthem,textwithinanimageisofparticularinterestas(i)itisveryusefulfordescribingthecontentsofanimage;(ii)itcanbeeasilyextractedcomparedtoothersemanticcontents,and(iii)itenablesapplicationssuchaskeyword-basedimagesearch,automaticvideologging,
