3、cfurnace)slags,werechar-acterizedandmodifiedbysemi-rapidcoolingincruciblesandrapidcoolingbywatergranulation.Theaimofthisworkwastoinvestigatetheeffectofdifferentcoolingconditionsonthepropertiesofglassyslagswithrespecttotheirleachingandvolumestability.Opticalmi

4、croscopy,X-raydiffraction,scanningelectronmicroscopeandastandardtestleaching(prEN12457-2/3)havebeenusedfortheinvestigation.Theresultsshowthatthedisintegratedladleslagwasmadevolumestablebywatergranulation,whichconsistedof98%glass.How-everEAFslag1,EAFslag2and

5、theBOFslagformed17%,1%and1%glass,respectively.Theleachingtestshowedthattheglass-con-tainingmatrixdidnotpreventleachingofminorelementsfromthemodifiedslags.Thesolubilityofchromium,molybdenumandvanadiumvariedinthedifferentmodifications,probablyduetotheirpresence
