2、ichiganABSTRACTinPittsfield,Massachusetts.AninvestigationofthecoronaperformanceofTestswerecarriedoutintheProjectUHVtestseveraldifferentconductorbundlesfor765/800-kVcage,wherethebundleswereenergizedoveravoltagetransmissionlineswascarriedoutunderaprogramrangenecessarytosimulateconditionsofbundleson
3、3-jointlysponsoredbyConsumersPowerCompanyandThephaselinesgintherange735-800kV.TheeffectsofDetroitEdisonCompany.Theresultsoftests,carried1)thenumberofsubconductorsperbundle,2)thesur-outonsingle-phasebundlesof3,4,5,and6conduc-faceconditionofthesubconductors,and3)thebundletors,arepresentedintheformo
4、fgenerationquantiti-geometryonthefoul-weatheraudiblenoise(AN),radioesofaudiblenoise,radiointerference,andcoronainterference(a),andcoronaloss(CL)characteristicsloss.Theinfluenceofbundleasyrrmetryandconductorwereinvestigated.Resultsarepresentedintheformsurfaceconditionongenerationquantitieswasinves
5、ti-ofgenerationquantitie~,~measuresofthecoronaef-gated.Acomparisonoftheexpectedperformanceof3-fectswhicharedependentonlyonthevoltagestressphasetransmissionlinesusingseveralofthetestedconditionsintheimuediatevicinityofthebundle.bundlesisgiven.Generationquantities,beingindependentoftheoverallconduc
6、tor-groundgeometry,canbeusedtodeterminetheINTRODUCTIONAN,X,andCLperformanceofa3-phaselineofanyheightandphasearrangement.ConsumersPowerCompanyandTheDetroitEdisonCom-panyformedtheMichiganElectricCoordinatedSystemTESTFACILITIESANDINSTRUMENTATIONin1962.Thereafter,a345-kVnetworkwasconstructedtieingthe
7、twosystemstogetherandinterconnectingtoTheProjectUHVtestcageisessentiallyanopen-theAEPsystem.Thetwocompaniesarenowcooperatingendedmeshtunnelofsquarecross-sectionthroughwhichintheplanninganddesignofa7651800-kVnetwork.the
