2、NRS042.(b)TheKwaZulu-NatalDepartmentofWorksGeneralElectricalSpecification.(c)TheMunicipalBy-LawsandanyotherspecialrequirementsasdeemednecessarybytheLocalSupplyAuthority;(d)LocalFireRegulations.2.S.A.B.S.APPROVEDDRAWINGSSABSApproveddrawingsarenotrequiredforthisproject.3.TESTONCOMPLETIONUponc

3、ompletionofthelightningprotectionsystem,thefollowingtestsshallbewitnessedbyanappointedrepresentativeoftheEmployer.TheresultsshallberecordedonsuitabletestcertificateswhichmustbesignedbyboththeContractorandtheEmployersrepresentative.Asketchmustbeincludedoneachtestcertificateindicatingtheposit

4、ionsofeachearthelectrodeinrelationtosomepermanentreferencepoint.Itmustalsoindicatethepositionsatwhichtestswerecarriedout,thetypeoftestandtheresultsofthesetests.3.1EarthResistanceTestTheEarthResistanceTestshallinvolvemeasuringtheresistancetoearthofeachrod-typeelectrode,orgroupofrod-typeelect

5、rodes,ortrenchearthwhichwouldnormallybeconnectedtoonedown-conductororearthterminal.Thistestmustbemadewiththeelectrodescompletelydisconnectedfromanypartofthestructureorlightningprotectionsystem.3.2ElectricalContinuityTests(a)ExternalDown-ConductorsElectricalcontinuitybetweenthelowerendsofext

6、ernaldown-conductorswhichmustallbedis-connectedfromtheearthingsystemduringthetestshallnotexceed1(one)ohm.(b)MetallicServicesElectricalcontinuitybetweenanymetallicstructuresofservices(e.g.rainwaterpipes)whichformanintegralpartofthelightningprotectionsystemshallnotexceed1(one)ohm.Thesetestssh
