2、elimitationsorconstraintsimposedbytheapplication,materials,safety,environmentaleffects,andotherpracticalconsiderations.Atthisstage,wearenotconcernedwiththeoptimiza-tionofthesystemandarelargelyinterestedinobtainingafeasibledesign.Thoughanydesignthatmeetsthegiv
3、enrequirementsandconstraintsmaybeadequateforsomeapplications,itisgenerallydesirabletoseekadomainofacceptabledesignsfromwhichanappropriatedesignisselectedonthebasisofcost,easeoffabrica-tion,availabilityofmaterials,convenienceinusage,etc.Thevariousconsideration
4、sthatareinvolvedinthedevelopmentofanaccept-abledesignofathermalsystemhavebeendiscussedinChapter2.Theseledtothefollowingmainsteps:1.Formulationofthedesignproblem2.Conceptualdesign3.Initialdesign4.Modelingofthesystem5.Simulationofthesystem6.Evaluationofthedesig
5、n7.SelectionofanacceptabledesignOptimizationofthedesignfollowsthedeterminationofadomainofaccept-abledesignsandisnotincludedhere.Mostoftheotheraspects,particularlyprob-lemformulation,conceptualdesign,modeling,andsimulation,werediscussedindetailintheprecedingch
