11、youngbrainalsousesthesamemechanismsavailableatlaterstagesofdevelopmentbutinamoreefficientway.Forexample,inpeoplewithvisualfielddefectsofcentralorigin,theanatomicalexpansionoftheextrastriatalvisualnetworkisgreaterafteranearlylesionthanafteralaterone,whichresultsinmo

12、reefficientmechanismsofvisualexplorationoftheblindfield.Asimilarmechanismislikelytosupportsomeofthedifferencesfoundinpeoplewithblind-sight,thephenomenonofunconsciousvisualperceptionintheblindfield.Inparticular,comparedwithpeoplewithlatelesions,thosewithearlybraindam
