6、spossibletonumericallyintegratethecoupledCFD-DEMsystemwithoutsignificantlyincreasingcomputationaloverhead.Itisalsoclear,however,thatreactoroperatingconditions,reactionkinetics,andmultiphaseflowdynamicshavemajorimpactsontheroastingproductsexitingthereactor.Wefindthat,withthe

7、samepre-exponentialfactorsandmeanactivationenergies,inclusionofdistributedactivationenergiesinthekineticscanshiftthepredictedaveragevalueoftheexitgas-solid-phaseanditsstatisticaldistribution,comparedtosingle-valuedactivation-energykinetics.Thesefindingsimplythataccuratereso
