3、ethenonlinearvis-coelasticpropertiesofintra-abdominalorgansusingthedatafrominvivoani-malexperimentsandinverseFEparameterestimationalgorithm.Intheassump-tionsofquasi-linear-viscoelastictheory,weestimatedtheviscoelasticandhy-perelasticmaterialparameterstoprovidea
4、physicallybasedsimulationoftissuedeformations.Tocalibratetheparameterstotheexperimentalresults,wedevel-opedathreedimensionalFEmodeltosimulatetheforcesattheindenterandanoptimizationprogramthatupdatesnewparametersandrunsthesimulationit-eratively.Wecansuccessfully
5、reducethetimeandcomputationresourcesbydecouplingtheviscoelasticpartandnonlinearelasticpartinatissuemodel.Thecomparisonbetweensimulationandexperimentalbehaviorofpigintraabdomi-nalsofttissuearepresentedtoprovideavalidnessofthetissuemodelusingourapproach.1Introduc
6、tionSofttissuecharacterizationandmodelinghasbeeninvestigatedinordertounderstandmechanismsoftraumaticinjury.Forexample,Farshadetal.[1]characterizedthematerialparametersofpigkidneybasedonuniaxialtensiontestsonexvivosamples.Theyweremainlyinterestedinatissuebehavio
7、runderhighspeedorimpactloadingconditions,whichoccurinaccidents,sotheirmeasurementsweremainlyexvivomeasurements.Recentdevelopmentsinmedicalinstrumentshavemotivatedthetissuecharacterizationunderthelowerspeedloadingconditionsandusingthedatafrominvivomeasurementswh
