3、1PeterSchmid,5,1MH1(UW88-1),discoveredbyMatthewBergerKristianJ.Carlson,1,6PaulH.G.M.Dirks,2,7JobM.Kibii1on15August2008.MH2isanadultindividualrepresentedbyisolatedmaxillaryteeth,apartialDespitearichAfricanPlio-Pleistocenehomininfossilrecord,theancestryofHomoanditsr
4、elationmandible,andpartialpostcranialskeletonthatwetoearlieraustralopithecinesremainunresolved.Herewereportontwopartialskeletonswithandesignateasthespeciesparatype.AlthoughMH1ageof1.95to1.78millionyears.ThefossilswereencasedincavedepositsattheMalapasiteinisajuveni
5、le,thesecondmolarsarealreadySouthAfrica.Theskeletonswerefoundclosetogetherandaredirectlyassociatedwithcraniodentaleruptedandinocclusion.Usingeitherahumanremains.TogethertheyrepresentanewspeciesofAustralopithecusthatisprobablydescendedoranapemodel,thisindicatesthat
6、MH1hadfromAustralopithecusafricanus.Combinedcraniodentalandpostcranialevidencedemonstratesprobablyattainedatleast95%ofadultbrainsizethatthisnewspeciessharesmorederivedfeatureswithearlyHomothananyotheraustralopith(15).Althoughadditionalgrowthwouldhavespeciesandthus
