2、maticfacialexpressionanalysishasfocusedonrecognitionofprototypicexpressionsratherthandynamicchangesinappearanceovertime.Toinvestigatetherelativecontributionofdynamicfeaturestoexpressionrecognition,weusedautomaticfeaturetrackingtomeasuretherelationbet
3、weenamplitudeanddurationofsmileonsetsinspontaneousanddeliberatesmilesof81youngadultsofEuro-andAfrican-Americanbackground.Spontaneoussmileswereofsmalleramplitudeandhadalargerandmoreconsistentrelationbetweenamplitudeanddurationthandeliberatesmiles.Alin
4、eardiscriminantclassifierusingtimingandamplitudemeasuresofsmileonsetsachieveda93%recognitionrate.Usingtimingmeasuresalone,recognitionratedeclinedonlymarginallyto89%.Thesefindingssuggestthatbyextractingandrepresentingdynamicaswellasmorphologicalfeatur
