2、eptionsmostpassengersoncommercialvesselsoraircraftmustcompleteDeclarationFormpriortoCustomsprocessing.TheCustomsprovidespassengerswithablankDeclarationForm,whichcontainsNOTESandotherCustomsinformation.ThisblankFormisavailablefreefromCustomsandthroughagents.IftheBaggageDeclarati

3、onFormisproperlycompletedbythepassengersandutilizedbytheCustomsofficer,eachpassengercanbeprocessedefficientlyandexpeditiously.TheFormprovidestheCustomsofficerwithbasicinformationaboutthepassenger-ItprovidesthepassengerwithinformationaboutCustomsregulationsandthoseofotheragencie

4、s.IfonetakesacarefullookattheBaggageDeclarationForm,itbecomesapparentwhatinformationisprovidedandhowitisuseful.Therearesevencolumnsinthetopleft-handcorneroftheForm.Columns1一3containthepassenger'sname,nationalityandpassportnumber.Theinformationcanbeverifiedbyreviewingthepassenge

5、r'spassportorothertraveldocuments.Column4tellstheCustomsofficerfrom/towhichcountrythepassengeristraveling.Thisinformationcanbeverifiedbyreviewingtheairlineticket.Column5indicatesthenumberoftheaccompanyingfamilymembers.ThisgivestheCustomsofficeracompletepictureofthefamilygroupfa

6、cinghimandhelphimdetermineiftheyareabletograntexemptions-Columns6&7indicatehowmanypiecesofhandbaggageandcheckedbaggagethepassengeriscarrying.TheBlackColumnIontheleftasksthepassengerifheiscarryingoverRMB1,000oranyChinesecurrencies.TheBlackColumn2asksthepassengerifheiscarryingove
