4、ntabilityWorkStreamaspartofthepreparationfortherevisedGlobalStrategyonWomen,AdolescentandChildren’sHealth.Thepaperdrawsonthelessonslearnedfromtheimplementationofthe2010-2015GlobalStrategyandinparticulartheimplementationoftherecommendationsofthe2011CommissiononInformationan

5、dAccountability(CoIA).Therehasbeenconsiderableprogressonaccountabilitysince2010,butseriouschallengesatthecountryandgloballevelremain.Atthecountrylevel,therearestillcountrieswithoutfunctioningCRVSsystemsandmanycountriesstilllacknationalhealthaccountsandfunctioninghealthmana

6、gementinformationsystems.Anyglobalaccountabilitymechanismforwomen,adolescentandchildren’shealthwillonlybeasgoodasthesumofthecountryparts,sothereneedstobeacceleratedprogresstoimplementfullytheCoIArecommendations.Inadditiontostrengtheningcapacityandensuringaninclusiveprocess

7、forallstakeholders,thereisaneedtoagreeonaminimumstandardizedreportingsystemthatenablesprogresstobecomparedacrosscountriesandregions.ThepreviousCoIArecommendedindicatorsprovideastillrelevantstartingpoint,butwillneedaugmentingtoencompassthemuchbroaderagendaoftherevisedstrate
