3、dividualswithaSCIandtodeterminethefactorsleadingtodeficiency.Results:Sixteenstudieswhichmetalltheinclusioncriteriawereidentified.Allofthesestudiesassessedtotalserum25-hydroxyvitaminDstatusinindividualswithanacuteorchronicSCI.Overall,theprevalenceofvitaminDd
4、eficiencyorinsufficiencyseemstobe high(range:32–93%)inthispopulationcomparedwiththatinable-bodiedpersons.Themainfactorsareimmobility,lowphysicalactivityandbedrest,andthereforenotenoughexposuretosunlight.Inaddition,age,skinpigmentation,lesionlevel,occurrence
5、ofpressureulcers,bodymassindex,seasonandlatitudeappearedtobefurtherdeterminantsforvitaminDdeficiency.Inathletes,playing theirsportindoorsoroutdoorsmayhaveanadditionalroleindevelopingvitaminDdeficiency.Conclusion:Theavailablestudiessuggestthatindividualswith
