3、byasecondcommonrespiratoryvirus,eitherporcinerespiratorycoronavirus(PRCV)orswineinfluenzavirus(SW),werestudied.Theaimwastodetermineifdualinfections,ascomparedtosinglevirusinfections,resultinenhancedclinicalmanifestations.ItwasalsoexaminedifPRRSVreplicationaffect
4、sreplicationofPRCVorSIVintherespiratorytract.Groupsofconventional10weekoldpigswereinoculatedwithPRRSV-only(3pigs),PRCV-only(4pigs)orSIV-only(4pigs).DualinoculationswithPRRSV-PRCV(4pigs)andPRRSV-SIV(3groupsof4,4and5pigs)wereperformedata3dayinterval.Agroupofuninoc
5、ulatedcontrolpigs(8pigs)wasincluded.TheinfectionwithPRRSV-onlyinducedatransientfever(40.2C)at2DPI,butnorespiratorysigns.ThePRCV-onlyinfectionremainedsubclinical.TheSIV-onlyinfectionresultedinaonedayfever(40.1C)withmoderatetachypnoeaanddyspnoea.Meanweightgaininth
6、evirus-inoculatedgroupswasretardedcomparedwiththecontrolgroup.ThePRRSV-PRCVinfectioninduceda9daylastingfever(peak40.9C)withtachypnoea,dyspnoeaandproductivecoughing.ThePRRSV-SIVinfectionresultedinfeverandrespiratorysignsinall3groups.Clinicalsigns,however,weremore
7、pronouncedingroup1thaningroups2and3.Pigsofgroup1showedfeverduring10days(peak41.4(Z),tachypnoea,markeddyspnoeawithabdominalbreathing,andaproductivecough.Pigsofgroups2and3hadfeverfor5and3days(peaks40.6and40.3C)respectivelyandmildrespiratorydisorders.Meanweightgain
