3、ofclimatechange,people’sperceptionsofwhethertheconsequencesarepositiveornega-4tive,availableadaptationoptions,andthebenefitsofslowingtherateofclimatechange.Thechallengefortheassessmentcommunityistoprovidethisinfor-mation.Assessmentsmustbemadeofthepotentialconsequencesofclimatechange,aswellaso
4、fopportunitiestoadaptinordertoreducetherisks,ortakeadvantageoftheopportunities,presentedbychange.5Apolicy-focusedassessmentisanongoingprocessdesignedtoprovidetimelyandusefulinformationtodecision-makers(1).Assessmentproductsthataddressdecision-makers’specificquestionsmustbeproducedsothattheyco
