2、atsimplerecommendationtohelppatientsstayhealthy,andtheAmericanHeartAssociationhasmadeitacenterpieceofitsadvicetoimprovethenation’shealth.Thisrecommendationisastruetodayasitwasfivedecadesagobecausesciencecontinuestoshowhealthbenefits.Fruitsandvegetableshelppeoplereducelow-densitylipopr

3、oteins(morecommonlyknownas“bad”cholesterol),lowerbloodpressureandmaintainhealthyweight.1Fruitsandvegetables,aspartofahealthyoveralldietarypattern,cansubstantiallylowerriskforcardiovasculardiseases,stroke,diabetesandotherhealthproblems.Thesebenefitsareprovenindietsemphasizingfruitsandv

4、egetables,wholegrains,low-fatdairyproducts,poultry,fish,legumes,non-tropicalvegetableoilsandnuts–butlimitedinsweets,sodium,sugar-sweetenedbeveragesandredmeats.Increasingfruitandvegetableconsumptionalonecanreducetheriskofcardiovasculardiseasesandstrokeby20percent.2Basedonthiscompelling
