3、erersdwelledintheSanCarlosmountainrange.  Expertshavenotyetbeenabletodatethepaintings,buthopetochemicallyanalysetheirpainttofindouttheirapproximateage. 'Noobjects' "Wehavenotfoundanyancientobjectslinkedtothecontext,andbecausethepaintingsareonravinewallsandintherainyseasonthe

4、sedimentsarewashedaway,allwehaveisgravel,"saidarchaeologistGustavoRamirez,fromtheMexicanNationalInstituteofAnthropologyandHistory(Inah). 2Inoneofthecaves,theexpertsfounddepictionsoftheatlatl,apre-HispanichuntingweaponthathadnotyetbeenseeninotherpaintingsintheTamaulipasstate.

5、 Thepaintingsarebeingconsideredanimportantfindbecausetheydocumentthepresenceofpre-Hispanicpeoplesinaregionwhere"beforeitwassaidthatnothingwasthere",MrRamirezsaid. AnotherarchaeologistinvolvedintheInahstudy,MarthaGarciaSanchez,saidthatverylittleisknownaboutthecultureswhodwell
