2、eHanjiangRiverandhasgainedthereputationof“theSmallSouthintheVastNorthwest”.SincethefirstestablishmentofHanzhongCitybytheKingHuiwenin312BC,ithashadahistoryofmorethan2300years.Duringthelonghistory,ithasgonethroughgreatchanges.AfterthefoundingofthePeople’sRepublicofChina,hereitestablishedtheadmini
3、strationPrefectureofSouthernShaanxiin1951.ItchangedtoHanzhongSpecialAdministrationAreain1954.Afterwards,itbecameHanzhongPrefecturein1968andfinallybecameHanzhongCityin1996.Hanzhonggovernsonedistrict,10countiesandoneProvincialEconomicDevelopmentZone.Itcoversanareaof27200squarekilometerswithapopul
4、ationof3.82million.Thankstothelonghistoryandsplendidculture,HanzhongwasthecradleforLiuBang,thefirstemperoroftheHanDynasty,toestablishhiskingdom.ItwasthebaseforMr.ZhugeLiang,thePrimeMinisterofShuKingdomandgreatwiseman,tofightagainsttheWeiKingdominthenorth.ItwasalsothebirthplaceofMr.ZhangQian,the
5、founderoftheSilkRoadandtheplacewhereCaiLun,theinventorofpapermaking,madethefirstpieceofpaperintheworldandwasgrantedthedomain.AllthosefeaturesenableHanzhongtowinthefameoftheNationalRenownedHistoricalandCulturalCityaswellasChina’sBestTouristCity.InHanzhong,thereare131historicalsitesunderspecialpr
