4、pyandmodelingthattheevolutionarilydistantbacteriaEscherichiacoliandCaulobactercrescentusachievecellsizehomeostasisbygrowingonaveragethesameamountbetweendivisions,irrespectiveofcelllengthatbirth.Thissimplemechanismprovidesaremarkablyrobustcellsizecontrolwithouttheneedofbeingprecise,abatingsizedeviati
5、onsexponentiallywithinafewgenerations.Thissizehomeostasismechanismisbroadlyapplicableforsymmetricandasymmetricdivisionsaswellasfordifferentgrowthrates.Furthermore,ourdatasuggestthatconstantsizeextensionisimplementedatorclosetodivision.Altogether,ourfindingsprovidefundamentallydistinctgoverningprinci
