1、7ProjectmanagementplanAssoonastheprojectmanagerhasreceivedhisbrieforprojectinstructions,hemustproduceadocumentwhichdistilswhatisgenerallyavastamountofinformationintoaconcise,informativeandwell-organizedformthatcanbedistributedtoallmembersoftheprojectt
2、eamandindeedallthestakeholdersintheproject.Thisdocumentiscalledaprojectmanagementplan(PMP),butisalsosometimesjustcalledaprojectplan,orinsomeorganizationsacoordinationprocedure.ThePMPisoneofthekeydocumentsrequiredbytheprojectmanagerandhis/herteam.Itlis
3、tsthephasesandencapsulatesallthemainparameters,standardsandrequirementsoftheprojectintermsoftime,costandquality/performancebysettingoutthe‘Why’,‘What’,‘When’,‘Who’,‘Where’and‘How’oftheproject.InsomeorganizationsthePMPalsoincludesthe‘Howmuch’,thatisthe
4、costoftheproject.Theremay,however,begoodcommercialreasonsforrestrictingthisinforma-tiontokeymembersoftheprojectteam.ThecontentsofaPMPvarydependingonthetypeofproject.Whileitcanruntoseveralvolumesforalargepetrochemicalproject,itneednotbemorethanaslimbin
