2、tputs.Thermistors,RTDs,andthermocoupleswerefollowedbyanotheranalog-outputdevice,thesilicontemperaturesensor.Inmostapplications,unfortunately,theseanalog-outputdevicesrequireacomparator,anADC,oranamplifierattheiroutputtomakethemuseful.Thus,whenhigherlevelsofintegrationbecamefeasible,temperaturesenso
3、rswithdigitalinterfacesbecameavailable.TheseICsaresoldinavarietyofforms,fromsimpledevicesthatsignalwhenaspecifictemperaturehasbeenexceededtothosethatreportbothremoteandlocaltemperatureswhileprovidingwarningsatprogrammedtemperaturesettings.Thechoicenowisn'tsimplybetweenanalog-outputanddigital-output
4、sensors;thereisabroadrangeofsensortypesfromwhichtochoose.ClassesofTemperatureSensorsFourtemperature-sensortypesareillustratedinFigure1.Anidealanalogsensorprovidesanoutputvoltagethatisaperfectlylinearfunctionoftemperature(A).InthedigitalI/Oclassofsensor(B),temperaturedataintheformofmultiple1sand0sar
