3、sandwideareaaccess.Traditionallytheyaredeployedinacentrallocation,usingserverclusteringwithloadbalancing(horizontalpartitioning)tosustainuserload.However,horizontalpartitioninghasbeenshownveryefficientonlyinreducingapplication-relatedoverheadsofuser-perceivedr

4、esponsetimes,withouthavingmucheffectonnetwork-inducedincubation.Verticalpartitioning(e.g.,runningwebtierandbusinesstierinseparateVMS)hasbeenusedforfaultisolationandloadbalancingbutitissometimesimpracticalduetosignificantrun-timeoverheads(evenifonewouldkeepthet
