4、approachesbeginwiththewholetextastheunitinfocusratherthanthesentence;theyareconcemedwiththesocialmacro-purposesoflanguage,andnotjustthesemanticmicro.functionsofindividualwordsandsentences.WhileasBadgerandWhite(2000)pointout,thenegativeaspectofgenreapproachesisthattheyunderva

5、lueskillsneededtoproduceatext,andseelearnersaslargelypassive.Notwithstandingthelimitationsofproduct—based,process—basedandgenre—basedapproaches,asynthesisofprocessgenre-basedapproachisthoughtasanaccommodatingaswellasenrichedmodetOteachwriting.modeloftheprocessgenreapproachis
