2、iedforfrom1.4to5onbothsidesoftheCMSdetector,contributingtohigherradiationconditionsaswell.TheCMSHEcalorimetersuperiorjetandmissingtransverseenergyresolutions.Hereweconsistsof19layersofscintillatortilessandwichedbetweendiscusspossibleupgradescenariosforbothcalorimeters.Recent70mmbrassabsor
3、bers.Lightgeneratedinthesescintillatorsstudiesrevealedabnormallyhighamplitudesignalsduetopunch(KuraraySCSN81)iscarriedtohybridphotodiodesbythroughchargedparticles,mostlymuons,producingCherenkovKurarayY-11doublecladwavelengthshifting(WLS)fibers.photonsattheHFcalorimeterPMTwindow.Ourstudies
4、showBothscintillatorsandWLSfibershavebeenshowntobethattheseeventscanbeeliminatedeitherbyusingthetimingproperties,orreplacingtheHFPMTswithnewgenerationfourmoderatelyradiationhardupto2.5Mrad.ThesimulationanodePMTs.AstheintegratedluminosityoftheLHCincreases,studiespredictradiationlevelsupto1
5、0Mradinhighηtowers.thescintillatortilesusedintheCMSHadronicEndcapThisvaluereachesupto30Mradforthefronttowerswherecalorimeterwilllosetheirefficiency.ThisreportoutlinestwotheElectromagneticEndcap(EE)calorimeterdoesnotshieldpossibleradiationhardupgradescenariosbasedonreplacingthetheHEcalorim
6、eter[10,11,12].AsasolutiontothisradiationHEscintillatorswithquartzplates.damageproblem,weproposetosubstitutethescintillatorswithquartzplates[13,14,15].Inpreviouspapers,wereportedresultsfromradiationhardnesstestsonvarioustypesofquartzI.INTRODUCTIONmaterialintheformoffiber.Resultsshowthatqu
