2、ogicanditslawsaretimelessandofeternalvalidity.Thisviewpointhas,ofcourse,sometimesbeensubjectedtoascepticalscrutiny,butallattemptstoanalyzetimewiththemeansofalogicalcalculushavecometonothing.Consequently,sincethetraditionalviewpointseemstobethecorrectone,itfollowsthatalogicianataTimeConferenceshou

3、ldbeapersonanongrata,andthecurrencywithwhichhepaysforadmissionshouldnotbeacceptable.However,Ifeelthatmypresencehassomejustification.ThelogicdiscussedinallpreviousconfrontationsbetweenLogicandTimewasinvariablytheclassictwo-valuedlogic;butitmightbepropertoraisetheoldissueagainwhenalogicianclaimstha

4、tourtraditionaltheoryofthinkingisnottheonlyoneandthatatrans-classicsystemofrationalitymightbeabletotackletheproblemoftimeifmorepowerfulmethodsofinvestigationwereavailable.Sincetheclassictheoryofrationalityisindissolublylinkedwiththeconceptofvalue,firstofallonehastoshowthatthewhole"valueissue"cove
