5、allegiancetothechurch,hebecameamemberofthemoreconservative Torypartyin1710. UnfortunatelyforSwift,theTorygovernmentfelloutofpowerin1714andSwift,despitehisfameforhiswritings,felloutoffavor.Swift,whohadbeenhopingtobeassignedapositionintheChurchofEngland,insteadreturnedtoDublin,wherehebecamethede
