3、12monthslater.Fourdaysafterchallenge,virusinnasalturbinatesandliverwasquantified,andprevalanceofmicroscopiclesionsinliverandgut-associatedlymphoidtissuewastabulatedasindicesofchallengeresistance.MHV-immunizedandchallengedgroupswerecomparedtosham-immunizedandchallengedgroups.Miceimmunizedbyi.n.

5、ecoronavirusstrainovertime.IntroductionCoronavirusesrepresentalargefamilyofrespiratoryandentericpathogensofabroadrangeofmammalianandavianhosts.Inhumans,respiratorycorona-virusesareimplicatedasthecauseofapproximately15to20%ofcommoncolds[6,10].Thefrequencyofcoronaviruscoldssuggeststhatindividual

6、scanberepeatedlyinfectedwithcoronaviruses.Ifrepeatedinfectionstakeplaceinasingleindividual,immunityiseitherineffective,short-livedorvirusstrain-specific.ThemurinecoronavirusMHVhasbeenausefulmodelsystemtostudycoronavirus-hostinteractions.UsingMHVstrainswithprimaryrespiratorytropism,ithasbeensho
