1、Project5.3.7bDragsterDesignandFabricationIntroductionYouhavebeenaskedtosubmitadesignandprototypeofadragsterthatwillbeconsideredbyaracingteamforthisyear’sdragracingseason.Lastyear’sdesignwasnotveryaerodynamicandtheteamlostvaluablesecondsbecauseofit.Therewillbeseveralautomobilemanufac

2、turersatthisyear’srace.Theywillbelookingfornewideasthattheycanimplementtoimprovetheefficiencyofnextyear’sshowroommodels.Thebasicprinciplesofdesignandmaterialsmustbeappliedasyousolveyourmajorconcerns.Thegoalistodesignandproduceavehiclethatwilltravelagivendistanceintheshortestamountof

3、timewhenpoweredbycompressedair.Yourtimetrialswillbeveryimportant,astheywillsupportyourclaimofthebestdesign.ItisimportantthatyouapplythedesignprocessthatyoulearnedintheDesignandModeling™unitinordertosolveproblems.Inthisprojectyouwillapplyproblem-solvingskills,groupdynamics,andresearc

4、hskills.Youwilluseyourknowledgecoupledwithcommonsensetodesignandbuildamodelofavehicle.Youmustconsidertheprojectrequirementsasyoudesignthevehiclesothatitwilltraveladistanceintheshortestamountoftimewhenpoweredbycompressedairasitsfuel.Inthisprojectyouwilluse3Dmodelingsoftwaretodesignyo
