3、efinitions,classifications,features,origins,andbasictranslationmethod,etc.Theseaspectshavebeenmadeincisivestudiesbyresearchers;however,asthegemofanation’sculture,idiomsshouldhavemoreconnectionwithculture.Itisthecolorfulculturalinformation,nationalflavorandthe
4、charmofalienculturethatshouldbedeeplystudiedandcarriedforwardrelyingonthestrengthoftranslation.AsJuriLotmanmaintains,“nosinglelanguageisnotrootedinaspecificculture;neitherdoesacultureisnotcenteredbythestructureofsomecertainnaturallanguage.”(JuriLotman,1987)Th
5、erefore,onecangetamoresatisfyingresultbyconsideringculturalfactorsinthesametimeasstudyingthesourcelanguageandrenderingittothetargetedlanguage.Fromthisperspective,translatorsshouldnotonlytranslatetheimageandrhetoricdevicesofSLbutalsoitsnationalandlocalflavoran
6、dpaymuchattentiontoitsculturaldivergences.Inviewoftheinadequacyandincomprehensiveresearchdoneintheidiomtranslationfieldandthegreatsignificanceoftheinfluenceofculturalfactorsonidiomtranslation,thepresentpaperwillmakeacomprehensivestudyofEnglishandChineseidioms
7、intheculturalperspective.Inthepresentpaper,theauthorwillelaboratetherelationshipbetweenlanguage,cultureandidiomtranslation,followedbyacomprehensiveanalysisofinfluenceofdiversifiedculturalfactorsonidiomtranslation.Bycombiningwithaliteraturereviewofsometranslat
