3、andvehiclesafetyresearchunitwith22collaboratingpartners.Theunit,whichisherecalledanopeninnovationarena,differsfromanintermediaryinthatitbothenablesopeninnovationwithinaspecificfieldofexpertiseandenvisagesitselfasakeyplayerinthatsamefield.Thecasestudyrevealsthreetypesofchallengesforthem

4、anagementofanopeninnovationarena:challengesthatariseattheinterfacewithpartnerorganizations,challengesrelatedtocollaborationbetweenthepartners,andchallengesrelatedtothearenaitself.Introductionforinstance,howthefirmmightbenefitfromopeninnovation.Anexamplehereisthethreehispaperinvestigat
