3、nthlyMagazinesignedwithhisbrother'snickname.Laterhepublishedafewpieces.ForthenextthirtyyearsDickenswrotenovelsuntilhedied.Hisotherworksinclude:LifeandAdventuresofNicholasNickleby(1839),ThePersonalHistoryofDavidCopperfield(1850),LittleDorrit(1857),ATaleofTwoCities(1859),and
4、GreatExpectations(1861).AChristmasCarolwasfirstpublishedin1836.ThemaincharacterinthisnovelisanoldbusinessmannamedEbenezerScrooge.Heisrichinthetown,butheisveryselfishandmiserly.HisemployeeBobonlygets15shillingseveryweek.ScrooogebelievesthatChristmasisjustanexcuseforpeopleto
