3、tBournemouthUniversity,e-lecturesareeasytopreparefromexistinglecturematerials.Traditionaluniversitylecturingisarelativelyformalpedagogicmechanismsoe-lecturesdonotrequireafullunderstandingofcurrentlearningtheories,entofthemoreinteractiveaspectsofuniversityeducationatadis

4、tancesuchasonlineseminardiscussions.Itisenvisagedthatacademiclecturingstaffofthefutureaacademicstaffthusmaintainingcontroloverthecontentandstyleoftheirunits,e-lecturesmaybeusedintraditional,campus-baseduniversitiesasentofaglobale-lecturemarketcanbegradual,aterialseal,th

5、usalloiliar,modeofdelivery.Key(U.K.)asanexample,thestateofuniversitiesisintroduced(section2)andtheirapproachtoteachingandlearning(section2.1)and,inparticular,theroleoflecturesisdiscussed(section2.1.1).Section2.1.2introducesandprovidesanexampleofhoeofthepossibleeffectsof
