1、-AbstractWiththedecreaseintheamountofhighrankcoal,lowrankcoalisbeingincreasedtheuseofintheworldThehighmoisturecontentoflignite,however,significantlyconstraineditsvalue.Studyofmoistureinlignitecanprovideatheoreticalbasisforitsdehydrationtechnology.Inthisstudy,th

2、reeapproachesthatweretubefurnacedewateringinnitrogenatmospherecombinedwithDifferentialScanningCalorimetry(DSC),acceleratedsolventextractiondewateringapproach,andacceleratedsolventextractiondewateringapproachpretreatedwithmicrowavewereusedtodeterminetheformsofwa

3、terinShenglilignite.Furthermore,somephysico-chemicalpropertiesincludingfunctionalgroups,specificsurfaceareaandporesizedistributionofallsamplesweredetermined.Toinvestigatetheeffectsofcationsonequilibriumadsorptionwatercontentoflignite,ion-exchangeprocesswaschara

4、cterizedbyFourierinfraredspectrum(FT-IR)andtheashcontents.Theequilibriumadsorptionwatercontentsofallsamplesweredeterminedinarangeofrelativehumidities.Resultsofthesethreedewateringapproachesshowthatclassificationofwaterinligniteinvolves:freewater,non-freezablewa

5、ter,crystalwater,pyrolysiswater,closedporewaterandboundwaterincludingcapillarywater,inter-particlewater,intra-particlewaterandadhesionwater.Effectsofthesethreedewateringapproachesonphysico-chemicalpropertieschangewithoperatingconditions.Studyoftheeffectsofcatio

6、nsonequilibriumadsorptionwatercontentoflignitehasshownthattheextentofion-exchangedexchangeinShenglicoalisinorderof Ca2+>Na+>K+>Mg2+.Therelativeeffectivenessofcationsinincreasingthe equilibriumadsorptionwatercontentisinorderofMg2+>Ca2+>Na+≈K+.Athigh relativehumi

7、dity,thefactorthatcontrolequilibriumadsorptionwatercontentisfree watermoleculesinteractions.However,atmiddlerelativehumiditycapillaryforce betweenmetalcation-carboxylgroupcomplexandcapillaryismoreimportant.Atlow relativehumiditywaterinteractionswithsorptionsite
