1、1CodexStandard193-1995CODEXGENERALSTANDARDFORCONTAMINANTSANDTOXINSINFOODANDFEEDCODEXSTAN193-19951.PREAMBLE1.1SCOPEThisStandardcontainsthemainprincipleswhicharerecommendedbytheCodexAlimentariusindealingwithcontaminantsandtoxinsinfoodandfeed,andliststhemaximumlevelsandassociatedsamplingplansofcon
2、taminantsandnaturaltoxicantsinfoodandfeedwhicharerecommendedbytheCACtobeappliedtocommoditiesmovingininternationaltrade.ThisStandardincludesonlymaximumlevelsofcontaminantsandnaturaltoxicantsinfeedincaseswherethecontaminantinfeedcanbetransferredtofoodofanimaloriginandcanberelevantforpublichealth.
3、1.2DEFINITIONOFTERMS1.2.1GeneralThedefinitionsforthepurposeoftheCodexAlimentarius,asmentionedintheProceduralManual,areapplicabletotheGeneralStandardforContaminantsandToxinsinFoodandFeed(GSCTFF)andonlythemostimportantonesarerepeatedhere.Somenewdefinitionsareintroduced,wherethisseemswarrantedtoob
4、tainoptimalclarity.Whenreferenceismadetofoods,thisalsoappliestoanimalfeed,inthosecaseswherethisisappropriate.1.2.2ContaminantCodexAlimentariusdefinesacontaminantasfollows:“Anysubstancenotintentionallyaddedtofood,whichispresentinsuchfoodasaresultoftheproduction(includingoperationscarriedoutincro
5、phusbandry,animalhusbandryandveterinarymedicine),manufacture,processing,preparation,treatment,packing,packaging,transportorholdingofsuchfoodorasaresultofenvironmentalcontamination.Thetermdoesnotincludeinsectfragments,rodenthairsandotherextraneousmatter”.Thisstandardappliestoanysubstancethatmeet
6、sthetermsoftheCodexdefinitionforacontaminant,includingcontaminantsinfeedforfood-producinganimals,except:1)Contaminantshavingonlyfoodandfeedqualitysignificance(e.g.copper),butnopublichealthsignificance,inthefood(s)giventhatthestandardselaboratedwithintheCodexCommitteeonContaminantsinFoods(CCCF)h
7、astheobjectivetoprotectpublichealth.2)Pesticideresidues,asdefinedbytheCodexdefinitionthatarewithinthetermsofreferenceoftheCodexCommitteeonPesticideResidues(CCPR).3)Residuesofveterinarydrugs,asdefinedbytheCodexdefinition,thatarewit
