2、eanddisinfectiveabilityofseedsofMoringaoleifera,Jatrophacurcasseeds,calyxofHibiscussabdarifa,sclerotiumofPleurotustuberregiumandAlumonwastewatersamplesfromYelwasettlementinBauchi,Nigeria.Varyingweights(0.5to59)ofdriedpulverizedplantmaterialsandAlumwereplacedin200mlseachofthethree-wastewatersamplesa
3、ndleftfor24hours.Theresultsshowedwellabove90%reductioninbacterialloadofthewatersamplesbyMoringaoleifera.AlltheplantmaterialsexhibitedappreciablecoagulativeeffectcomparabletoAlum.Moringaoleiferaseeds,JatrophacurcasseedsandHibiscussabdarifacalyxreducedthebacterialloaddrasticallyandinhibitedEscherichi
4、acoliinvitrousingtheAgardiffusionmethod.TheturbidityofbothplantAlumtreatedwatersamplesdrasticallyreduced.ThePHofAlumtreatedwaterwasobservedtodecreasefromneutraltoacidicasopposedtoaconstantPHof7.0forbothplanttreatedanduntreatedwastewatersamples.Thispreliminaryreportdoesnotonlysuggestanalternativeand
