4、possible.AndalotofquestionsrelatedtoVODconcentrateonthequestionofdeliveringofcontentofthevideoserver,sotheresearchcontentsofthispapermainlyconcentrateontheserver’sservicepolicy,considerhowutilizeIP-Multicasttechnologytorealizestream-sharingmechanism,andprop
5、oseasolutionofinteractiveVODbasedonstream-sharing.ThispaperproposesaVoDsolutioncalledUVoDthatunifiestheexistingTVoDandNVoDarchitecturesbyintegratingunicastwithmulticasttransmissions.Byunicasttransmission,Thenserver’schannelisconsistedofunicastchannelnadmult
6、icastchannel,andtheyarescheduledtogether.Byunicasttransmission,thesystemtreservededicatedvideochannelforeachuserthatcanenableuserwatchanymovieatanytime.Andmulticastwithbatchingandpatchingpolicycanenableseveralusersshareasamevideostream,sotheservercanprovide
7、serviceformoreusersbylimitedresource.But,inmulticastchannel,themoviemustbesatisfiedwithpopularitymodel,andthesystemmustensuresmallservicedelay,sothissolutioncanflexiblyuseunicastchanneltoprovideservicewhenavoveconditionsisnotsatisfied;andbecausetheusers’sop
