2、andardslikeMPEG-2,MPEG-4andAVS.Inthispaper,anin-depthstudyismadeonthesethreetransforms,andsomenewalgorithmsandtheircorrespondingarchitecturesareproposed.First,distributedarithmetic(DA)andaspecificaccumulatorareusedinthedesignofDCTtoachieveahighthroughputupto8pixel

3、sperclock,whichissuitedforhighdefinitionvideocompressionapplication.Second,forthedesignofSA-DCT,boothencodingisintroducedforcoefficientsofDCT,andthedesignconceptofprogrammableprocessorisadoptedtocomputingvarious-lengthDCTwhileanoveltransposedregisterarrayispropose

4、dtoimplementthetransposeoperationnecessaryforSA-DCT.TheproposedSA-DCTcorecostsabout12500gateswiththemaximumpowerconsumptionof2.54mW.Third,amoresimplifiedstructurewith6addersisproposedtoimplementthealgorithmbasedonICT(10,9,6,2,3,1)whichisinventedbyW.K.Cham.Besidest
