2、uCo),Iringa,TanzaniaEmail:kibonal@nm-aist.ac.tzABSTRACT:Thetelecommunicationsectorhaswitnessedfastgrowthinthenumberofmobiletelephoneusersnowservedbysevencellularoperators.UntilFebruary2012,therewereabout26millionmobilephonesubscribersservedbymorethan4,000basestationsspreadallovertheco
3、untry(Tanzania)andthisisduetoincreaseinpopulation.Despitethemanyadvantagesbroughtbyservices,thereisincreasedpublicconcernoverpossibleadversehealtheffectsduetoelectromagneticfields(EMF)radiatedbythemobilephonetowers.Thepaperassessestheimpactoftheelectromagneticradiationsfrommobilephone
4、stowerstomalesperminfertility.TheelectricfieldfromthemobilephonetowerplacedatacertaindistancefromtestispositionwerenotedandthenanalysedbyconsideringSARrelationtoelectricfieldfromthetowertothetestis.Itwasconcludedthatthereissignificantimpactonthemalesperminfertilityontheexposureofthema
5、lereproductiveorgantotheradiationsfromthetowersatthespecifiedoperatingfrequenciesnearthetestis.Recommendationshasbeenprovided,thatmobilephonetowersshouldnotbebuiltnearbytheareawheremostpeoplearelivingasthedistancebetweenthetwoaresosmalltocausethemalesperminfertilitywhichisthelongterme
